The Ugandan Immigration Authorities have, with immediate effect, instituted an online visa application. All visas for nationals who previously could get visa on arrival, now you must get the visas in advance. There is a chance that you will be denied boarding of your flight to Uganda if you do not have a visa when checking in at your home airport.
To apply for the electronic visa, please visit HERE and please note that the process could take up to 3 days (or longer in some cases).
During the processing of this online application, you will be required to upload copies of your passport (the section with name, number, expiry, etc.), passport photo and a copy of your valid yellow fever vaccination certificate including the section that shows the date and batch of your most recent inoculation against yellow fever.
The good news is, Uganda have reduced their visa fees to $50.00 for most passport holders.
The Government of Rwanda has implemented reduced speed limits on all roads. This will increase the various driving times in the country. Please see some of the examples as follows:
- Kigali – Ruhengeri or Ruhengeri – Kigali is now roughly 3.5 hrs
- Kigali – Nyungwe or Nyungwe – Kigali is now roughly 6.5 hrs
- Kigali – Akagera or Akagera– Kigali is now roughly 3 hrs
- Nyungwe – Ruhengeri or Ruhengeri – Nyungwe is now roughly 8.5 hrs
With immediate effect, visitors from China are required to have valid yellow fever vaccination certificates. This is because China has been added to the list of countries endemic for yellow fever.

Their first guest checks in on 1st August!
We have been advised that entry will be denied to visitors who arrive at either Entebbe International Airport or the various land borders without having applied for and obtained an e-Visa in advance.
Cut off is 1st of August, when the parallel system of both e-applications and manual processing on arrival will cease. It appears that airlines have been told to deny boarding to any passengers heading to Entebbe unless they can show proof of having applied for a Visa and obtained one in advance.
A few days ago, Uganda reduced the visa fee for most tourism visitors to $50 per person from the previous $100.
As of the 1st of August will therefore all visa applications have to go through the online process and without exception. It is anticipated that airlines will refuse passengers to board without proof of the online visa duly completed in advance, due to the otherwise heavy fines levied on them for uplifting passengers with incomplete travel documents.
I just completed a 5 day safari with your company [Ranger Safaris]. I travelled with a friend, Fidelma and Dafa was our guide.
Although I filled on a feedback form this morning, I feel that it didn't give me enough scope to praise our wonderful guide Dafa.
From the very moment I met him I felt I was in safe hands. He was knowledgable not only to the safari and animal questions we asked but also so interested in explaining the economic and cultural queries we had in relation to Tanzania.
He was patient and attentive to our many requests and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had an unforgettable experience.
Please express my personal thanks again to Dafa, He is a wonderful asset to your company - you are lucky to have such an employee who is dedicated to his company, your clients and his country.
